Cell Culture  Lab

This laboratory was established in 2017,by Dr Mariam Shahrokhi and with collaborative support of Dr Saeideh Jafari, with the purpose of studying in vitro cellular models for cardiovascular diseases, cancer and stem cell researches.
This lab is equipped with a Laminar flow cabinet, a CO2 incubator, two Liquid nitrogen storage tanks,an inverted phase contrast fluorescence microscope with a 5MP digital camera for photo scans, a water bath, two CO2 tanks, a freezer /refrigerator, two centrifuges with 15/50ml rotors, a vaccum-aspiration-system for disposal of media and a computer.

The present research activities of the lab are based on the culture of different cell lines or primary cell culture from tissues and blood samples, two or three- dimensional co-culture of cells, evaluating in vitro cytotoxicity potential of drugs, medicinal herb extracts and nanoparticles with MTT or WST1
methods. In addition, fluorescent microscope provides users with the opportunity to study apoptosis, cell cycle, cell proliferation and tracking up- and down-stream signaling pathways by immunofluorescence. The Lab manager is Dr. Saeideh Jafarinejad.
